3d Floral Photography Tulip

It is spring and the yellow glow from these tulip petals is breathtaking. The look is 3D! To Michael Weinberg Photography, it is all about color, and the exposure which allows for all the fine color to show. The same care in getting the soft light to saturate these delicate petals is used to expose the soft whites and ivories that are found in the fabric and textures of a bride's wedding dress.

About Tulips: Tulips are popular, widely grown easily recognized groups of spring flowering plants. The history of tulips in cultivation around the world is distinguished. These highly bred and flamboyant flowers (fleurs) can trace their roots back to "wild" tulips. There are hundreds, approximately, of these wild species tulips that occur naturally, and from these come thousands of distinctly different hybrids; selections that grace gardens the world over. The scientific name for this bulbous plant group is "Tulipa" and was given by the Swedish botanist Linnaeus. The name tulip omes from the Persian word toliban (NOT Taliban) meaning turban, which is a good term to describe this flower's shape. There is not a single species of tulip native or indigenous to Holland, the country usually associated with Tulips. In fact, only a small handful of species can be found in the wild of Europe, and those are all restricted to southern parts in the Mediterranean region, some near Portugal. The majority of species, however, occurs in central, western Asia in countries such as Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. The range of a couple of species extends into northern India and far west China. The life cycle of tulips: Central and western Asia, in general, experience a distinctly hot, dry summer. Many plants that grow there developed special ways to survive the climate. Tulips, rely on underground storage organs, such as bulbs, to survive the long period of dormancy (sleep). Crocus and gladiolus come from corms, dahlias arise from tuberous roots, and begonias come from tubers. Many of our favorite spring flower bulbs are true bulbs such as hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips. Bulbs are composed of compressed stems, and fleshy, modified leaves surrounding a bud or growing point. The compressed stem forms the basal plate and is the part from which roots and the growing point develop. The fleshy, modified leaves responsible for food storage and protecting bud. The outermost layer is dry, papery, reddish-brown coat known as tunic. This structure enables the plant to survive in dry, dormant states for many months, in a colorful box on a garden center display shelf! The best time for planting tulips is late September to November, late as mid December. Moisture triggers the sleepy bulb to grow, and as soon as the bulb is in moist soil it begins to awake and get up. In December, a bulb planted in October develops a dense root system, a healthy shoot you would find not far below the soil surface line. Next in the growth cycle the soil begins to thaw in late winter and early spring and the shoot begins to grow again and emerges from the bulb and soil. By April, the earliest tulips are braving the rainy and or snowy elements and opening their colorful petal goblets. The flowering season extends through May when Double Late Tulips and Single Late Tulips finally do open. The colorful leaves also develop during flowering periods. The foliage of tulips, and all bulbs, play an essential role. The leaves are responsible for converting energy of sunlight into food through the process "photosynthesis." The food carbohydrates is necessary for growth and flowering for the next year and is stored in the precious bulb. So as unsightly and ugly as the large, floppy leaves are, they ought not be cut down. Rather, the leaves ought to be left to turn yellow and whither. At This point they will be removed. Once the leaves are gone, the bulb goes back to sleep, into a state of dormancy, completing the yearly growth cycle.
